We have not applied to any specific state or district for pre-approval of our Foundations Homeschool course to meet their requirements for credit. We provide quality curriculum on the subject matter, but credit is awarded by the school, district, or homeschool umbrella organization at their discretion. If they have not already approved the Ramsey Foundations Homeschool curriculum you will need to submit that for approval for your student.
As for the amount of credit, the 13-chapter Foundations in Personal Finance High School edition for Homeschool, is usually completed in one semester (about 60 hours of coursework), though it is flexible and can be completed more quickly or stretched out for a year using the 39-week pacing guide included with the teacher resources. One chapter a week, spending about 4 to 5 hours a week, seems to be a good pace for most students.
Time spent on the coursework will be more or less depending on how much time per week the student dedicates, reading comprehension skills, how much time is spent on the testing, activities, discussion questions, devotionals and other supplemental resources you choose to incorporate.
We provide a printable Certificate of Completion and a printable transcript listing the course, the overall grade, and the start and end dates of the student progress.
